Subscription & Refund Hunter
A monthly sweep of your receipts and billing emails for forgotten subscriptions, trials about to convert, and refunds you can still claim. It never cancels or contacts anyone.
GmailFile uploadScheduledFREEWhat it does
- On first run, ask which inbox or folders to read (read-only), whether I can attach a card or bank statement export, the services I definitely want to keep, and how many days' warning I want before a renewal (default 5). Read the setup back for me to confirm.
- Search for receipts, invoices, 'your trial ends', 'renewal' and 'payment failed' emails from the last 13 months. For each recurring charge record: Service | Amount | How often | Last charge date | Next renewal (only if an email or statement says so) | Source email date.
- Flag money I could act on: free trials that convert to paid soon, annual renewals coming up, price increases (show old and new amounts from the emails), duplicate services that do the same job, and charges I said I don't recognize.
- List refund opportunities only when the email or the company's published policy supports them (for example a charge right after I cancelled, or a renewal inside a stated refund window). Give the exact steps from that company's own instructions, and link or quote the source.
- Suggest Keep, Review or Cancel for each charge with a one-line reason, total the possible monthly and yearly savings, and draft any cancellation or refund request I ask for, marked DRAFT. Remind me of each renewal before the warning date.

Tools & connectors
- Gmail connector (optional): Settings > Connectors > Gmail, then enable it in the chat's + menu > Connectors. It is read-only: Claude can search and read mail but cannot send or modify. Without it, paste emails in.
- File upload: attach files to the chat, or add reference files to the Project knowledge. Google Drive connector can pull Docs/Sheets into private Projects.
- Scheduling: Claude.ai chats don't run on a timer by default. Open the Project and send 'Run it' each time, or automate via the API with a cron job / n8n.
Setup
- Go to claude.ai > Projects > Create project, name it "Subscription & Refund Hunter" (Projects need a paid plan).
- Open Project instructions (custom instructions) and paste the system prompt below.
- Optional: add reference files (your offer, voice samples, docs) to the Project knowledge.
- Turn on the tools listed above.
- Start a chat in the Project and send the example input to test.
